Like many folks, my path forward has never been straightforward. I graduated from UMASS Amherst and bounced around a bit before becoming a teacher for seven years. In 2007, I enrolled in graduate school and received a Master of Social Work degree from Eastern Washington University in 2009. I worked in community mental health in Spokane, Washington, for over 11 years. I am a certified EMDR therapist and a Level II Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I am experienced working with people who struggle with trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression and borderline personality disorder. During my 11 + years of community mental health experience, I have worked with virtually every diagnosis, and I learn and grow with each client. I take a broad, diversified and holistic approach to counseling. In addition to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, I utilize strategies from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, compassion-focused therapy, existential and humanistic/client-centered and nature therapies. There are many paths to wellness, and each path is unique to each individual. In therapy, like in life, there are seldom easy answers, but there are always paths forward.
