Core Programs

Innovative programs, new specialties

Care Coordination

Care Coordination

Our care coordinators scheduled thousands of appointments despite the lingering effects of the pandemic, including longer wait times and staff shortages in clinics. We ensured critical needs were met, worked to educate our patients on resources available to them, helped them navigate a rapidly changing health care environment and ensured that our most vulnerable weren’t slipping through the cracks.

Premium Assistance

Premium Assistance

With the support of key funders, we were able to purchase health insurance on the Exchange for 39 members in 53 households — ensuring that patients have access to appropriate health care before their medical need results in an emergency department visit or a more extensive problem.

Dental Clearance

Dental Clearance

In partnership with Northwest Kidney Centers, we provide dentures and dental clearances for patients in need. More than 100 patients have been cleared for and received a kidney transplant. We also partner with DentistLink, a program of the Arcora Foundation, to provide limited funding for patients in need.

Pro Bono Counseling

Pro Bono Counseling

At Project Access Northwest, our Pro Bono Counseling program delivers quality mental health care to uninsured and underinsured individuals. Partnering with licensed professionals and student interns from local universities, we ensure equal access to services and expand the mental health workforce. We collaborate nationally on pro bono projects to enhance our impact and secure sustainable funding for vital mental health resources.

Strike Down Barriers to Health Care

Our sixth annual fundraising event raised over $130,000.

We were thrilled to host our sixth annual Strike Down Barriers to Health Care fundraiser event on October 24, 2023, and greet so many of the friends we’ve worked with and partnered with over the years. With support from all our sponsors and individual donors, we met our goal and raised over $130,000! All funds raised support our care coordination program.

Professional emcee and auctioneer Laura Michalek reminded us why this event mattered and what we hoped to achieve over the course of the evening. Board president Robin Larmer, Northwest Kidney Centers, and Gary Renville, President & CEO of Project Access Northwest, shared the organization’s accomplishments and plans for the future. Michael Brush, MD, an ophthalmologist with Kaiser Permanente of Washington, was awarded our Andrea Castell Access to Health Care Award, which recognizes an individual who works to improve health care access for all members of our community. Next, we raffled off two round-trip tickets on Alaska Airlines. Then Molly James, Program Director, Specialty Care, reminded us of our mission and how Project Access Northwest connects the vulnerable to care. The evening wrapped up with the always exciting Raise the Paddle!
