Congratulations and best wishes to Patrick Tracy, MD, who is — at least temporarily — retiring!

Dr. Tracy helped establish the West Sound Free Clinic, which provides free medical care to the un and under-insured in the Kitsap County/West Sound area. He has been a volunteer provider with Project Access Northwest for the last decade and has played a key role in developing our Kitsap County program.

Dr. Tracy was well known for giving his vulnerable patients extra support to make sure they received the care they needed. When he referred a patient for specialty care, he often accompanied them to the appointment, acting as an advocate for the patient and extra support for the provider, since he could answer any questions about the patient's care to date. Dr. Tracy frequently accompanied patients to appointments in Seattle, as he did recently with a young man who was losing his sight and was fortunate to be seen at Virginia Mason Medical Center.

He was also instrumental in onboarding new physicians for specialties and recommending potential new volunteer providers.
