The Polyclinic has been part of the Seattle health care community for more than 100 years. Its mission is to provide patients with personalized health care. From a single six-physician practice in 1917 to nearly 300 physicians and advanced practice clinicians at 14 clinic sites today, the organization has grown steadily over time.
“Part of what sustains our organization is staying connected to the community we serve,” shared Lloyd David, Western Washington Group President. “The Polyclinic is proud to maintain a long-standing relationship with Project Access Northwest in providing specialty care and services—including endocrinology, general surgery, nephrology, neurology, obstetrics/gynecology, orthopedics and pulmonology—to those who otherwise couldn’t afford these essential services.”
Expanded services
To continue to grow and serve even more people in the region, two years ago The Polyclinic joined Optum, a nationally recognized health care services company. Since then, The Polyclinic has expanded services, including video visit technology and an upgraded medical records system, along with adding two new clinic sites in 2021: The Polyclinic Bellevue, a multispecialty clinic that opened in January, and The Polyclinic Tacoma, a primary care clinic that opened in April.
“It’s been extremely gratifying to see The Polyclinic adapt and grow all while skillfully serving our community throughout the challenges of the worldwide pandemic,” David said. “Despite all the changes, our goals remain the same: We will continue to focus on improving health care and access to care in our region.”
